The IMPROVING THE ACTIVITY AND ACHIEVEMENT OF SCIENCE LEARNING IN MOVEMENT AND STYLE MATERIALS THROUGH A SCIENTIFIC APPROACH AT SDN 118 / IX PEMATANG PULAI MUARO JAMBI
The background of this research is the activities and student achievement in the subject of movement and style at SDN 118 / IX Pematang Pulai. The objectives of this study are: (1) to increase the effectiveness of the student learning process, (2) to increase student achievement, 3) describe student activeness efforts and grade IV student learning achievement at SDN 118 / IX Pematang Pulai through a scientific approach. This research is a classroom action research consisting of 2 cycles, where each cycle consists of 2 meetings. The subjects in this study were fourth grade students of SDN 118 / IX Pematang Pulai in the 2018/2019 academic year which had 17 students and the object of this study was student activity and achievement. The research was conducted for 4 months starting from January 2019 to April 2019. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets and written tests, while the data analysis used was qualitative and quantitative. The results of this study indicate that the scientific approach can increase the activity and learning achievement of the fifth grade students of SDN 118 / IX Pematang Pulai. Efforts to increase student activity and achievement are achieved using a scientific approach. The steps taken in the scientific approach include peering, asking, trying, reasoning, and communicating. In the student activism with the proportion of the initial conditions 35.55% increased in the first cycle to 43.91% and in the second cycle to 85.13%. Student learning achievement showed an increase from the initial condition, the student's score of 53.13 increased in the first cycle to 69.72 and in the second cycle it increased to 87.64. The percentage of students who completed the initial conditions was 29.46%, in the first cycle it became 67.57% and the second cycle became 89.19%. So, the scientific approach increases student activeness and learning achievement.
